second generation
The Second Generation Network is the national organisation within the UK representing the children and grandchildren of survivors and refugees from Nazi persecution. The Network was started following the “Unto the Third Generation?” national conference in London in 1995. We produce a journal (first published in January 1996), Second Generation Voices, three times per year. We also provide a link between smaller regional groups around the UK.
The Aims of the Second Generation Network are to:
- raise awareness of the Holocaust and related issues
- inform the Membership about relevant issues
- provide a forum for discussion of matters of interest and relevance to Members’ backgrounds
- foster contacts between, and offer support and outreach to, its Members
We are based at the Wiener Library in London.
